Police Officer Ronald Kloepfer - 9/11/01
Police Officer Ronald P. Kloepfer was appointed to the New York City Police Department on January 3, 1983, and began his career on patrol in Neighborhood Stabilization Unit 18. He served in the 73rd Precinct before being transferred to the elite Emergency Service Unit in 1988. Ronnie was assigned to Emergency Service Unit Truck 7 based out of the 75th Precinct and responded to the World Trade Center Attacks on September 11th, 2001. Ronnie was killed in the Line of Duty along with fellow teammate Detective Joseph Vigiano of Emergency Service Unit Truck 3 when the towers collapsed.
His interests included camping with his family, skiing and hunting. But his greatest passion was lacrosse. Ronnie loved the sport so much that in 1997, he started the NYPD Lacrosse team with the help of the Patrolman's Benevolent Association.
He is survived by his wife Dawn; children Casey, Jamie and Taylor; mother Janet; sisters Jill, Kim and Wendy; and brothers Christopher, Michael and Robert.

Detective Joseph V. Vigiano - 9/11/01
Detective Joseph V. Vigiano was appointed to the NYPD on April 28, 1987, and began his career on patrol in Field Training Unit 16 as well as the 73 and 75 Precincts prior to being assigned to the elite Emergency Service Unit. One of the Department's most decorated members, he had been shot three separate times in the line of duty and often lectured other law enforcement agencies on his own time about police tactics. Joe was assigned to Emergency Service Unit Truck 3 based out of the 43 Precinct and responded to the World Trade Center Attacks on September 11th, 2001. Joe was killed in the Line of Duty along with fellow teammate Ronald Kloepher of Emergency Service Unit Truck 7 when the towers collapsed.
A volunteer firefighter, he held the position of fire commissioner in his hometown for several years. Recently promoted to second grade-detective. He was scheduled to become a Cub Scout troop leader for his son's unit on the night of his death.
Detective Vigiano is survived by his wife Kathleen, a police officer assigned to the 75th Precinct; children Joseph, James and John; and parents Jane and John. His brother John, a New York City firefighter assigned to Ladder Co. 132, was also killed in the World Trade Center incident.
